New Transfers

This month we said farewell to Elder Squire and Sister Anderson.  They had both been here a while so we knew they were moving :(

Elder Hopkins is still here, as he has not yet received his Visa to be able to head to Brazil for his mission.

April 2014 Transfers...

Sister Carissa Tanner

After a good long time of getting to know Elder A and Sister Crane, we had transfers.  We have yet to meet the new missionaries but are excited to get to know them as well!

Elder Michael Hopkins

Elder A's Sweet Farewell Letter

This week we had both Elder A and Sister Crane leave our area.  Elder A and Elder Laiahonai were heading home.  We weren't able to go to their farewell from the Lilburn Stake Center, but they did stop in to say goodbye.  It was a tearful goodbye as I know he goes home to hardships within his family and within his community.  His letter was so sweet and thoughtful!  Couldn't get over his penmanship either!

Catching Up

Elder Leaunai playing the ukelele along side of Madison's guitar...trying to get "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" to sound right!
 Elder White and Elder Leaunai
Elder White and Elder Leaunai enjoying a few moments with instruments.

Elder White
was a recent convert to the church before coming out on his mission.  An incredible love for people and for the gospel.  He was anxious to return home to his nonmember family and how different life would be there.
August 2013
Elder  Leaunai
lost his father as a young teen and has a tender spot for his mother.  He credits his Bishop with getting him on a mission.  Shared his testimony before transfers and after having spent Christmas dinner with us (sick...so we put him to bed and awoke him to call his family) thanking us for showing him how a family can be.  Played rugby and ukelele.

November 2013
Many, including their families were surprised when a Tongan and a Samoan were placed together.  These two became fast friends and served our area with an amazing strength.   Both found the language quickly and often I'd have to remind myself that they don't normally speak English.  Love it when they bear their testimony in their language...the spirit is so strong!

Elder Pelekihna-'i-Vaito 'Auaea
(pronounced  Hawaii without the "H")
climbed our flagpole barefoot in about 3 seconds flat to help us re thread the rope for our flag.  Told he must come on his mission as to not disgrace his family and mainly his father who was recently called as Bishop on their small area.  He has since had to leave the country as some of the members had a change of heart towards him.  He will return home just before Elder goes home in April.

January 2014
Elder Joshua Squire

Sister Webster foot in a cast for months but toughed it out...dad made her perform against her every embarassment!
November 2013
Sister Bess Crane
hates having to "mother" the other missionaries.  She is an older and wiser sister who we get along with quite well.  She did not mind so much filling in all the time for our pianist since we only have three that we share among the ward.  She even played the organ a few weeks back for us!

January 2014
Sister Morgan Anderson
jumped to the piano when challenged by Bro. Jordan and accompanied us as we sang several hymns.
